Aquarium of the Pacific
City of Long Beach Hot Spots
The Aquarium of the Pacific is one of the largest aquariums in the United States. Its more than 12,500 ocean animals of 500 species fill 19 major habitats and 32 focus exhibits, taking visitors on a journey through the Pacific Ocean's three regions: Southern California/Baja, the Tropical Pacific, and the Northern Pacific. Over 30 full-time animal caretakers ensure the health and environmental quality for the aquarium's residents.
The building itself is designed to mimic the ocean, with sweeping, wave-like lines. In addition, the aquarium hosts a research institute for marine conservation and an ocean learning center. To check for upcoming events and get more visitor information, visit the Aquarium of the Pacific online.
